Dream Interpretation
Why Is It Not A Simple Task?
Dream interpretation can be a very sordid affair. The main
reason for that is the fact that the dreams of each and every
person are not the same. There are various differences in
dreams from one person to another. Some of these differences
are mentioned below:-
1. The Detail in the Dreams – Some people will see their
dreams in vibrant color and will see every object quite
specifically. There are people who can remember small details
on the objects they have seen in their dreams.
Some people can observe even the expressions of the people that
appear in their dreams. However, because this is not possible
for all, interpreting the dreams becomes a very complicated
affair.
2. The Recall Value – Recall value is the capacity of trying
to remember what was seen in a particular dream. A professional
dream interpreter will first ask the dreamer to recall as much
as possible about the dream, and then surmise what
the dream could have meant.
It is recommended that people write down their dreams as
soon as they wake up so that they are able to recall as many
details from the dream as possible. Even the smallest detail
can be useful most of the time.
3. Indirect Symbols – There are many small but significant
things that people omit from their dream narrations. This makes
the interpretation very difficult.
For example, a person might see a baby crying in a dream
while rocking in a cradle. But the person might only tell that
the baby was crying. The symbol of the rocking cradle, which
means "peace" might be omitted, which could render the dream
interpretation meaningless.
4. The Reasoning Process – All kinds of dream interpretation
require some reasoning. People have to be able to deduce and
infer from the things that they see in their dreams.
Even here, the reasoning will differ from one person to
another. People might arrive at various conclusions from a
single indication in the dream and that is what makes dream
interpretation such a non-uniform process.
